My Professional Mix: Alicia Hutchinson
Alicia requested a reverb effect on her vocals and for the
guitar part to be as clean as possible, finishing off with a fade out at the
very end of the track (through volume automation). Therefore I am planning to carry out all three of these
effects as well as adjusting the panning of the track in order to create a
stereo image and also adjusting the volume throughout the mixing process in
order to ensure that her voice and the guitar are well balanced.
My Creative Mix: Otis Mensah
After adjusting the volume of each track, I will pan the
bass part centre and the voice and guitar to left and right. I will then proceed to EQ the tracks creatively, in order to create a more unique sound, especially on the vocal part. I also will try and use volume and EQ to make his vocals sound less distant than they do in in the original recording.
I am also planning to try double tracking the guitar and altering the pitch of one track in order to create a harmonious effect. For the bass part I am planning to boost its low frequencies with EQ at 100. I may try adding some effects to the bass part as well as some reverb to the vocals (but automated).
